Baaaad D.E. No upgrade for you!
Holmes had been in the Institute for nearly a week now. He had begun to learn how to control his powers, and find out who some of the people were at the Institute. He quickly learned that Winter was really 16, not 8, and that she was basically a prodigy, with more power than she could handle without help.
He had also met Scott Summers, a.k.a. Cyclops; Jean Gray; Evan Daniels, a.k.a. Spike; Rogue; Kurt Wagner, a fuzzy blue elfish-looking boy with a tail, who was Nightcrawler; Kitty Pryde, a.k.a. Shadowcat; Arthur Gerden, a proper Aussie orphan that they called Fear; Wolverine; Storm; and Hank McCoy, a.k.a. Beast. There were many more students, but he hadn't met them yet. He wouldn't have much time to meet them now, as it was the first day of school, and everyone was rushing around, trying to get ready in time.
"Has anyone seen my other shoe?" Winter shouted from the top of the stairs. She was dressed neatly in a knee length denim skirt, and pink blouse. She was only wearing one white sneaker. Shadow and Scott ran into each other in the hall, as Scott was trying to remember where he had set his backpack. It was by the front door, but since everyone was upstairs, no one happened to look downstairs. Deidre was knocking on Evan's door.
"Evan! I think you have the wrong notebook!"
"Why do you say that?" He shouted from the other side of the door.
"Because I have yours!" Holmes almost couldn't help laughing at the chaos.
Beast was at the bottom of the stairs, holding a white sneaker. "Winter! Why was your shoe in the refridgerator?"
"That's where it was! Thank you, Mr. McCoy!" She squealed and hugged him. Tennyson, on the other hand, was calmly putting his backpack in his hover chair. He gave Holmes a look that said exactly what Prof. Xavier had to be thinking.
"Why didn't they think of all this last night?" Holmes chuckled. Lestrade rushed up with Scott's backpack.
"Scott! It was downstairs!"
"Thanks, Inspector!" He took it from her, and rushed downstairs. Wiggins fell down the staircase, and ran into Arthur, who was looking for his socks.
"Hey! Watch it, mate!"
"Sorry!" Wiggins said. When everything was in order, and breakfast was eaten, Ororo insisted on getting a picture of the whole group on the first day of school. As soon as the picture was taken, everyone rushed out the door. The building was quiet. Holmes looked over at Prof. X.
"Is it always like this in the morning?"
"Just on the first day of school."
You likie? It's in honor of school starting. It's kinda dumb, but I imagine that this is how the Institute would be on the first day of school. :-)
