I was a bit depressed so I came up with this funny idea to
make me undepressed...I don't know whether or not you guys will think
it's funny but...I decided to share anyway...As fair warning, this
gets crazy and makes absolutely no sense whatsoever...Oh, yeah, it
is on topic, too..sort of...um..i think I'm just gonna start writing
now...I think....
Mary was an ordinary girl who lived in an ordinary room.
Well, it would have been an ordinary room if she lived in a dorm...
but we won't go into that. Anyway, she liked to write stories about
her favorite obsessions. Only the obsessions, though. There were a
couple of other things that she liked but the obsessions were
special. She could never write a story about anything that wasn't an
obsession. (Yes, I'm obsessed with the word obsession.)
One day while she was writing a story, she wondered what it
would be like to actually meet some characters from her favorite
obsessions. She became (big surprise) obsessed with this
idea, even though she knew it would never be. They were, after all,
fictional. So she went about her life like normal.
The very next day was her birthday, and since she didn't
believe that blowing the candles out on the cake would make a wish
come true, she went ahead and wished that she could meet some
characters from her favorite obsessions. She really should have
specified...but you know, when you don't think something's going to
happen, you don't really worry about things like that.
After she had made it to her ordinary room, she sat in front
of her computer drooling over the screensaver of Elijah Wood as
Frodo. Then she moved the mouse and connected to the internet to see
what all was going on. Right as she did so a freak electrical surge
went through the phone line, modem, and out through the keyboard.
(Don't ask me how it happened, it just did. Besides, I'm the one
telling the story here, so there.) She jerked her hands back and
glared at the offending computer, then jumped when she heard someone
clear their throats from behind her.
"Zak, don't scare me like...." she said, turning around, then
stopped, her mouth open wide. There standing in her room were
fifteen people. Not just any fifteen people, either; they were all
from different books and shows. Well, seven were from a show, four
were from one book and two were from another. My wish didn't exactly
come true; I said 'my favorite obsessions' and they missed one...."
she thought rather irrelevantly, staring at the fifteen people and
wondering idly how they had gotten there.
She began making a mental note of all the people. (Don't ask
me why; I told you this wouldn't make any sense...actually it's
because this is the only way I can think of to tell you who all was
there....) The seven were from Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd
Century: Sherlock Holmes, James Moriarty, Beth Lestrade, the
three Irregulars (I don't mean any disrespect, I just don't feel
like typing their names in...you all know who they are), and Watson.
They were all looking at her as if expecting her to speak, but she
didn't because she hadn't finished her mental tally yet. The four
from the one book were Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley
and Severus Snape. Snape was glaring at the other three as though he
blamed them for whatever had happened. The other two were Frodo
Baggins and Gandalf. Then Gandalf disappeared for no reason
whatsoever and it was just Frodo.
"Okay, now that I know who all is here, uh...leave. Okay?"
Actually, she only really wanted two of them to leave; all
the rest she was okay with but she didn't want to seem rude. (Take a
wild guess which two....)
"How rude!" Deidre exclaimed, "Here we are in a strange place
and we don't even know your name, and you tell us to leave?"
Mary blushed. "Oh, er, uh...um...my name is uh...Batman..."
which was her usual response when she didn't want to answer a
question, ie: what do you want to eat? Batman. Where are you going?
To see Batman.... You get the picture? It's a game that carried over
from childhood. Oh, I forgot about that obsession. It used to be a
favorite. Not anymore, though.
Sherlock Holmes raised an eyebrow. "Really, I don't think
letting us know your name will hurt you."
Mary wrinkled her nose. "Okay, okay, fine. My name is Mary.
That's all I'm gonna tell you though. Okay?"
"Er..okay," Harry said. "You really like saying okay, don't
you?"
"Hmm? Oh, not really. I just say it a lot when I don't know
what else to say."
"Well, now that we've got that settled, why don't we go about
trying to get out of here," Moriarty suggested quite reasonably. (He
can be quite reasonable when he wants to be. It's just more fun for
him to be the bad guy.)
"That is not an option!" Snape snapped angrily. (He can't be
quite reasonable. I don't know why that is...), "Thanks to these
three we are all stuck here for the next forty-eight hours!"
