Lestrade was on her way to Baker Street to discuss the case with Holmes. It had been a few days since she had been out of the hospital and she was feeling a whole lot better then she had before. The hospital wasn’t one of Lestrade's favorite places to be; it always made her uncomfortable.

Holmes was sitting in his chair when Lestrade walked in. At her entrance he got up and walked over to the door.

"Morning, Holmes," spoke Lestrade as she allowed him to close the door. She moved over to the couch and sat down.

"Morning, Lestrade. How is your shoulder?" asked Holmes as he moved back to his chair.

"Better, thanks. How is the case proceeding?" Lestrade moved a pillow from the end of the couch to place on her knee so she could rest her arm on it.

"As well as it can, considering that Moriarty got away. Grayson really wanted to have an arrest on this one. Would you like some tea?" This last statement came to Lestrade from Holmes when Watson entered the living room.

"Hello, Watson, and yes, tea sounds nice." Watson smiled, and after saying his hello to Lestrade went back into the kitchen.

After a short time Watson came in with the teapot and snacks and sat it on the coffee table. Holmes and Lestrade had their tea and supplements and got back on the discussion of the case. They talked on how Lestrade was kidnapped and what was exchanged in conversation with her and Moriarty.

Then, feeling exhausted, Lestrade closed her eyes and took a deep breath and let it out. Suddenly something seemed different to her in the room and she instantly opened her eyes. What she found when she opened her eyes was that Holmes had disappeared from his chair. Turning her head she found Holmes sitting right beside her. She gave a start and stared at him.

"Hello," Holmes said softly to her, looking at her passionately.

"Hello," replied a blushing Lestrade, feeling a little bit sheepish.

Lestrade took the pillow from her knees and put it on the floor. Then she moved a bit closer to Holmes. Without another word they leant into each other and kissed. They stayed like that for a good minute or two. Then they slowly broke apart.

"Wow!" Holmes and Lestrade exclaimed at the same time, still looking into each other’s eyes.

"I've wanted to do that for a while," Lestrade said, going into Holmes’ arms.

As a reply Holmes held her close and tight and they stayed in that position for a long time.

In the kitchen there was a very happy Watson. ‘Finally. It took them long enough,’ Watson thought as he finished the dishes.
