Lestrade wandered around in a circle, moodily kicking at the
scraps of paper, popped balloons, and empty cartons that littered the
fairgrounds.
"I can’t believe it," Watson said.
"What are we going to do, Lestrade?" Holmes whispered.
Lestrade stopped walking, turned around, and stared at Holmes
for a while. Suddenly she squatted down and hugged Holmes as tight as
she could. "Holmes, I’m sorry! I’m so sorry -- I didn’t know that the
carnival ended today -- I’m so sorry, Sherlock!" she cried.
"Never mind. It’s not your fault," Holmes said.
"Looks like you are going to be a little boy all over again,"
Watson whispered.
Holmes nodded.

From that day onwards, Holmes spent his days like an adult but
he didn’t do much detective work now unless Lestrade and Watson were
with him, because clients refused to take him seriously. His strength
had changed into the strength of a boy so he couldn’t run as fast as
before. Lestrade had been praying before she went to bed every night.
And she often cried, thinking that what happened to Holmes was her fault.
If only she were not so mischievous.... Thomas, Kristen, and Deidre heard
all about it when they decided to move overseas, while Wiggins and
Tennyson didn’t know anything about it.
